Matthew Sieradski, Institute Director and Taiji Academy Chief Instructor, is a 20th-generation Chen-style and 3rd-generation Hunyuan Taiji lineage holder. His passion for these arts is both in sharing what he has learned to benefit others and in continuing to explore their endless depths. He has practiced martial arts for over twenty years and also holds advanced degrees in Tae Kwon Do and Northern Shaolin Eagle Claw Kung Fu. He travels regularly to Seattle to continue advanced studies with his teacher, Harrison Moretz, director of the Taoist Studies Institute.
Matthew Branham, Institute Manager and Taiji Academy Assistant Instructor, began his training in Taijiquan and Qigong in Yangshou, China in the year 2000. He has been a dedicated student and practitioner for over ten years. He studied the Yang style of Taijiquan through the lineage of Cheng Man Ching, with both William CC Chen in New York and Dr. Tao Ping Xiang in Seattle. In 2007, he began his training in the Chen-style Xinyi Hunyuan Taijiquan system with Harrison Moretz at the Taoist Studies Institute in Seattle, WA. Matthew has taught Taijiquan and Qigong in many settings, from university to children’s classes.
