Dr. Alicia Derby, DAOM, LAc

Alicia smilingAlicia Derby earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 2007 after earning her Masters in 2001. The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine is a postgraduate program renowned for its strong herbal curriculum and balance of both Chinese and Western medical sciences. Alicia spent five weeks in an extensive training program at the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, during 2001. She returned to China in 2007, to Chendgdu, for further education in 2007.  Alicia also has Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Portland State University.

Her well-rounded education complements her interests and specialties. Alicia has a diverse practice. She specializes in Elder Care, Women’s Health concerns, Orthopedics and Pediatrics. Committed to keeping her practice relevant you will often find Alicia reading the latest on both, Chinese and Western Medicine, or continuing her education at seminars and workshops. Her integrative approach to acupuncture supports a comprehensive medical system philosophy where Western and Chinese Medicine complement each other.

Alicia enjoys spending time with her family in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. She may be found running on the trails or in the park with her dog, Zoe, after ballet class with her youngest daughter Lexi. You may catch her on I-5, traveling to see her older daughter, Whitney, run Cross Country for Oregon State University. Intent on living a balanced life, Alicia also enjoys finding refuge in quite moments of reflection with her friends, family or self.

I’m looking forward to working in unison here at the Green Phoenix Institute with the practitioners whom are dedicated to bringing health and longevity to patient’s lives.
