Rachelle began her exploration of yoga in 1999 and since then has studied with a variety of teachers and has experimented with several styles of yoga. She has often been drawn to an adapted, slow, gentle version of Ashtanga Yoga and most recently she has been immersed in an ongoing, devoted training in Aksara Yoga (encourages the discovery of each person’s unique yoga from within the Self) founded by Dave Curtis, former Director of Tamarack Wellness Center’s Yoga Program. With the deepening of Rachelle’s own yoga practice through this training, she was inspired to teach and created a yoga program at a local non-profit agency serving people working with trauma and addiction. She is very excited to expand her teaching further to GPI.In addition to working as a yoga instructor, Rachelle is also a Mental Health Therapist who has found deep value in the use of expressive arts, wilderness, and yoga in her work with clients. Her practice balances health and wellness of mind, body, and Spirit. Rachelle has a MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology and Wilderness Therapy from Naropa University and a BS in Natural Health Sciences and Exercise, Nutrition, and Wellness from Bastyr University.
